Overview

With a custom domain, your community is accessible at your own address (e.g., community.yoursite.com) instead of the default Tryno URL. This gives your members a seamless, branded experience.

Setup

1

Go to Settings

Navigate to Admin > Settings > Domain.
2

Enter your domain

Type the domain or subdomain you want to use (e.g., community.yoursite.com).
3

Configure DNS

Add a CNAME record in your domain registrar pointing to the address provided by Tryno.
4

Verify

Click Verify in Tryno to confirm the DNS configuration.
5

Automatic SSL

An SSL certificate is provisioned automatically after verification. Your community will be served over HTTPS.

DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours, but it usually completes within minutes.

Limitations

  • One custom domain per community
  • Subdomains are recommended (e.g., app.yoursite.com)
  • Root domains (yoursite.com) can be used if your DNS provider supports CNAME flattening
  • SSL certificates are managed automatically and renew before expiry
