General concepts
Community — A group of members organized around a shared interest, brand, or goal. Each community has its own feed, chat, settings, and content. Member — A person who has joined a community. Members can interact with content, earn XP, and participate in challenges, courses, and events. Module — A feature that can be enabled or disabled per community (e.g., Feed, Chat, Events, Challenges, Courses, Map). Feed — The central content stream where members post text, images, videos, polls, and links. Post — A piece of content published to the feed. Posts can include text, rich media, and attachments.Tryno-specific terms
Tribe — Informal name for a Tryno community. Used throughout the platform and marketing. Vault — The course and content library within a community. Courses, modules, and lessons are organized inside the Vault. Tryno Pay® — The native checkout system that unifies Stripe and Mercado Pago. Handles payments, subscriptions, coupons, and access provisioning. Trust Score — A numeric score calculated automatically for each member based on tenure, engagement, and moderation history. Higher scores indicate more reliable community members. Handle — A unique identifier for a community, used in the URL (e.g.,tryno.io/t/my-tribe).
Tier — A membership level within a community that controls access to content, channels, and features. Tiers can be free or paid.
Streak — A count of consecutive days a member performs a specific action (check-in, posting). Streaks reward consistency.
XP (Experience Points) — Points earned by members for actions like posting, commenting, completing courses, and attending events. XP accumulates into levels.
Badge — A visual achievement displayed on a member’s profile. Badges can be awarded automatically (based on criteria) or manually (by admins).
Leaderboard — A real-time ranking of community members by total XP.
Community management
Owner — The highest role in a community. Owners have full control over settings, billing, and member management. Admin — A role with permissions to manage members, content, and community settings. Cannot modify billing or delete the community. Moderator — A role focused on content moderation. Can approve, reject, delete posts and comments, and mute members. Role — A permission level assigned to a community member (Owner, Admin, Moderator, or Member). RLS (Row-Level Security) — A database security mechanism that restricts data access based on the user’s role and community membership. Applied to all 194+ database tables in Tryno. Moderation Rule — An automatic filter that acts on content based on keywords, regex patterns, or AI categorization. DM (Direct Message) — A private one-on-one message between two community members. Channel — An organized conversation space within the chat module. Channels can be public, private, tier-based, or announcement-only.Content and engagement
Challenge — A structured activity with a defined duration, tasks, and rewards. Types include daily, free-form, and cohort-based challenges. Cohort — A group of members who start a challenge together on the same date. Cohorts enable synchronized progression and community within a challenge. Check-in — A daily action where a member confirms participation in a challenge. Check-ins can include text, photos, or other proof of completion. Course — A structured learning experience within the Vault, containing modules, lessons (often video-based), and optional assessments. Event — An online, in-person, or hybrid gathering with optional ticketing, QR code check-in, and recurring schedules. Drip Content — Content that is released on a schedule rather than all at once. Used in courses and challenges to maintain engagement over time.
