Overview

Tryno provides a layered moderation system that combines automatic rules with manual tools. You can catch most issues automatically and handle edge cases with human review.

Automatic rules

Configure rules that act on content before it reaches your community:

Rule types

TypeDescription
KeywordBlocks or flags posts containing specific words or phrases
RegexAdvanced text pattern matching for more precise filtering
AI categoryAutomatic classification using AI (spam, harassment, self-promotion, etc.)

Actions

When a rule matches, you can configure one of four actions:
  • Auto-approve — Content passes without review
  • Send to review — Content is held for manual review by a moderator
  • Auto-reject — Content is silently rejected
  • Mute author — The author is temporarily muted

Severity levels

SeverityBehavior
LowWarning sent to the author
MediumContent sent to manual review queue
HighContent auto-rejected + admin notified
Start with keyword rules for obvious violations, then add AI categorization once you have a sense of the kinds of issues your community encounters.

Manual moderation

Moderators and admins can take the following actions:
  • Approve or reject pending posts from the review queue
  • Delete published posts and comments
  • Edit post visibility (public, hidden, archived)
  • Mute — Temporarily prevent a member from posting (configurable duration)
  • Ban — Permanently remove a member from the community
  • Role adjustment — Promote trusted members to Moderator or demote as needed

Trust score

Tryno automatically calculates a trust score for each member based on:
  • Tenure — How long they have been in the community
  • Moderation history — Whether their content has been flagged or removed
  • Positive engagement — Likes received, posts shared, courses completed
  • Reports received — Number and severity of reports from other members
Higher trust scores mean fewer restrictions. Members who consistently contribute positively build trust over time, while those who violate rules see their trust score decrease.
The trust score is visible to admins in the member profile. Use it to inform moderation decisions and identify your most reliable community members.
